Happy New Year!

Hello Everyone,

Just thought I would write a quick note about Making our New Years Resolutions. Its that time again! Its a time to look back at all our accomplishments over  the last Year. Its a time to ponder, reflect and rethink the past years doings! Is is a time to take stock of our lives and do some inventory. I say out with the bad and in with the good! Lets not focus on all the couda-shouda-wouda's, but rather lets just focus on what we have done good for this last year! Give your self a pat on the back for all your milestones you made and efforts you put in this year to maybe change some things, or service your did. or just plane good deeds!
Now that you feel great about all the good things you have done over the past year its time to get started for the new year. First we must have the Desire to do great things in this year of 2012! Desire is better than what we want. What we desire comes from the heart and is in harmony with our spirit! We should pour out our heart to Heavenly Father about our desires. Let them be known! We need to follow the spirit and listen to the voice of the holy spirit. We should Have a desire to serve the lord this year and help all mankind. We need to love ourselves and what we do. We need to be kind and patient with our selves. We need to put off the natural man. Lets develop qualities this year to become like God.

This new year lets become selfless, love all of Heavenly fathers children, and treat everyone well! Lets be more charitable and kind and then we will become humble, patient, Christ-like, meek. submissive, and forgiving to name just  a few food qualities. So lets be diligent and seek him. Lets have the true desire in our hearts to do these things. These are the kind of New year resolutions we should be making. Lets rid ourselves of all our sins and bad thoughts. Lets pray more and have faith. Then we will receive what we truly desire! So out with the bad and in with the good!  Its onward and upward!! Lets all make it a wonder, awesome, and fabulous New Year of 2012!!!!....SO GO GET EM!!!!!...Beverly

Merry Christmas

CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE YEAR

A  little bit of Christmas lives.
                                                   Within the heart each day,
When you do a kindly dead,
Give a word of cheer away.
Why should we save our kindnesses
                                                     For just one special time---
The world needs love and caring
                                                     When Christmas bells don't chime!

Reach out a hand to help someone:
                                                      Cheer some heart today.
The gifts that mean the most
Aren't those for which we pay.

                                                      Those tinseled scenes have faded
                                                      That mark the yuletide cheer,
                                                      Christmas living in the heart
                                                      Grows brighter through the year!

                                                                                         Kay Hoffman

Well I just want to wish everyone a very " Merry Christmas" and a very " Happy new Year 2012" Yea!!! Celebrate big!!!!......................See you next year! Beverly

I Really Have a Wonderful Life

I watched a great movie on TV the other night. It was that good old favorite Holiday classic that most of you watch every year, it's called "A Wonderful Life." It is really a good Christmas movie! I really got into it this year. As I sat and watched it I realized I really do have a wonderful Life.

I could relate to George Bailey as he went through all his trials and started hating his miserable life and his job at the old broken down Building and Loan Company. What really started out all his problems was his attitude. He had a bad attitude when he was dating Mary, his childhood friend.  She had liked him all through school. She had to coax him to be nice to her and to date her. His brother later went on to be a war Hero. George did not get to pursue his dreams because his dad died early on and he had to take over the bank and protect his assets and the people of the town from that mean old Mr. Potter. He nearly drowned as a kid and couldn't hear out of one of his ears. Also his friend Sam Wayne-wright was  a great success in the plastic Industry and so George was a quiet jealous of him. So everything was going wrong in his  life. Things just just kept getting worse and worse. His wife Mary was so kind and loving through all this. Finally when the money from the bank gets misplaced or taken and is gone he has had it! He now wants to jump off a bridge and end his life!

How may of us have felt this way at one time or another? Most of us can relate to this story. I know I can. Every Christmas Season gets really hard for me . Its a busy time of year that can make or break us. Well luckily George has an angel that comes from Heaven and saves his life. He helps George see that he really had  a wonderful life after all. It took George almost loosing his life ad never being born to realize just how good he had it! He truly had a great wife and family that loved him. He may have not been rich monetarily but he was rich in his blessings.

Well the same goes for me and probably most of us. This great movie helped me realize I have a wonderful life! I am trying to be the most up beat I have ever been through the Holidays! I am trying to be the most giving I have ever been and I am trying to live do all the commandments better than I ever have. I am trying to truly have a Christ centered life! This is where I will find my salvation and my happiness. Going to the temple helps me tremendously. It protects me from the out side evils of the world. The most important thing we can ever do is to remember and love our Savior Jesus Christ. Especially this time of the year. What gifts can we truly give him this Christmas?  We need to invite his spirit into our homes and be as loving, kind,  forgiving, and tolerant as he was. He is truly our King of Kings.

So at the end of the movie "Its a wonderful Life" George Bailey is given his  Life back. He doesn't care if he goes to jail as long as he can have his family  and his life everything else is secondary! So he gets his second chance. All his friends, neighbors, and customers came to his aide and rounded up all the money he was missing and gave it to him so he would not go to jail for something he did not do. Isn't this a great story with a great powerful message that really teaches us whats important in this life!

Well I wish you all a very "Merry Christmas" and a joyous Happy Holiday Season!..........Beverly

Listening to the Spirit Gets us Around Big Stumbling Blocks

Hello everyone and I hope you are enjoying your beautiful Fall Season and giving thanks for all the wonderful things we have and enjoy in this world of ours. The article before last I wrote about a Red Hot week and how I had several little warnings that I did not heed to because I was being a bull head. I learned that I need to slow down and listen to the still small voice. The promptings come as a way to lead and guide us in and protect us in this life. Stumbling blocks are put in our way sometimes to teach us various lessons and prepare us for whats to come. But we need to use building blocks  in our lives to help pave the way to a happy future. We can not pick and choose some of our trials but we can choose how we are going to get around them, survive, and be happy!

My oldest daughter went with me yesterday to a nice neighborhood Turkey Dinner. She lives out in Eagle mountain and it costs a lot of gas money to go to and from there to Sandy. They have made several trips this week. Her husband said she could come and bring all their kids if I would give them a ride back home. He was going to play Hockey at the oval and wanted to bring the smaller car to conserve on gas. He had already made one trip in and had to come back. So I agreed  and said I would help drive them home. Later that afternoon I was standing in the kitchen and received a confirmation or prompting from the still small voice that I would not have to drive the kids home, that Todd would bring the van and drive them home. Later as the turkey dinner was getting over I told my daughter well I better drive you guys home. She replied back: "Todd is coming with the van so you won't need to drive us back to eagle mountain." I said to her why did he change his mind. She said he had received a prompting that he needed to drive them home in the van. Can you believe it we both had the same prompting around the same time!!!!Boy was I happy I did not have to drive them home in the dark!

I want to wish everyone a very " happy Thanksgiving Holiday and season" I hope we can all be in tune in our lives, listen, and make the right decisions.  I leave you with a Holiday poem to enjoy!

A Bountiful Harvest

Hello everyone its that time again. So check it out.....this is my favorite time of year! I like  the Holidays especially Halloween and Thanksgiving! And I have plenty to be thankful for. Its is harvest time and the leaves are changing and turning vibrant bright fall colors. The days are that warm Indian summer weather. The nights are cool, crisp, and have a slight chill in the air. It is football season. It is the best time of year for baking and showing off our baking talents by cooking those fabulous Fall deserts such as apple pie, pumpkin bars, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pies, banana bread, zuchini  bread and many other tasty treats. Also think of all the fun ways to cook all the different squashes and Fall vegetables.

We harvest our gardens and many salsa's, pie fillings, jams, jellies, salads, chili sauce, relishes, you name it. We are having a fun cooking class in the neighborhood. A chef from chili's restaurant will be teaching the class. He will be making a variety of Fall dishes. He will be making an easy gravy that is to die for. He will be showing us all bout carving meat and doing stuff with the leftovers. He will make a great squash soup. I'm very excited to attend the class.

I am so grateful and thankful for my wonderful family. My grand kids keep me very busy.  I am most thankful for my wonderful life  and my bounty of blessings. I have a book and I wrote down all the things in there I am grateful for in my life and I read it over and over again each day. It has a lot of self helps and ideas in there to improve on myself. It really helps me a lot to be happy and keeps me on the right track in life! Many of you might want to make a grateful book and incorporate your own ideas in it. Its a great tool for this time of year and will remind you of all the things you have to be thankful and grateful for!  So let us all harvest our bounty of blessings this Holiday Season.......Beverly

Red Hot Week Continued

Hello everyone....now getting back to that strange last week I had... Yes it was an extremely hard week. In fact, it was one of the strangest weeks I have ever had and it has spilled over into this week... But what I had learned from all those trials and $600 or more later is that I was lucky my car died in Big O's parking lot because they we right there to help me jump start the car and take care of me. The man upstairs was definitely taking care of me. I could have been stranded just anywhere and been in real trouble! So that was a great blessing. Then I was warned not to go get the cell phone - the man upstairs  knew I did not loose it. It was in my purse all the time. But I did not know that, so I was trying to get off work and go get it.

The last customer I talked to on the phone that day took 45 minutes - I could not believe it. I could not get off the phone. Then I could not not get out of the parking lost due to all the construction. Everywhere I went it was a dead end. I finally had to go around the entire building to get out. By now I did not have time to get down to the cricket store. I went anyway and then I accidentally turned down the wrong street not to mention it was under construction. I could not believe it! What ever was going on I did not care I was going to beat it and get that darn cell phone if it killed me. I finally made it to the cricket store and they were closed. Now if you are paying attention you have probably figured out by now someone is trying to warn me or tell me something and that is why all the roadblocks were put in my way! I pounded on the door and the man came over and opened the door and said they were closed. I frantically pleaded with him to please let me in I needed a cell phone and I had had a hard time getting there etc etc.. So he thought it over and let me in. So after a few minutes of looking at all the cell phones I purchased one. Right after I paid the man, I pulled the old cell phone out of my purse. What a hard lesson to have to learn. The lesson is, I was being warned I hadn't lost my cell phone. But I did not heed the waning or listen to the still small voice. I kind of figured I should have waited but instead of listening I just pushed my way and forced my way (to do or die) to get the cell phone!!

Next time I hope I realize to slow down and listen. Pay attention to what is going on and realize there is always tomorrow. If I would have done that I would not have bought that 2nd cell phone.....So stay tuned and we will discuss why the Lord chastens those that he loves......Beverly

Keeping My Cool in a Red Hot Week

Last week was particularity a very tough week! I had just come back from a nice trip from Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I had such a wonderful time. I went to get my car inspected and found out I needed a new emergency brake. So I took the car to get it fixed and they told me I also needed to replace the rear seals. They were in bad shape and leaking. So instead of the car costing me $150.00 it was now going to cost me $400.00. The car was taking longer to fix than anticipated. I tried to call my boss directly but had left her phone extension at home. So I called the work phone number in my phone no one would answer or even call me back. I walked an hour down Draper hill on 12300 South to work.

Then in the blazing, scorching, hot sun, after work, I walked back up the hill to get my car. Again it took another hour. I just barely made it there. They were closing. I get in my car to leave and it won't start! So luckily they come out of Big O's and give me a jump start! I go over to Auto Zone to get a battery and it cost me a $114.00. I then went to use my cell phone and it was missing.

The next day I go into work and I can't get through the door because my security badge was missing. So the lost badge was going to cost me $25.00 out of my pay check. After work I went to buy a new cell phone to the tune of $70.00. Right after I pay Cricket for a new cell pone I find the old one in my purse. I had previously searched that purse 300 times! By now I knew something was going on and I was definitely being tried and tested. I decided to do something different for once in my life. I decided I was not going to get the slightest upset or mad or even irritated. I decided I was going to roll with the punches and and be grateful and try to learn what ever it was I was suppose to learn. I decided to go with the grain in stead of against the grain if you will. I decided to swim downstream instead of upstream! I like using those analogies or metaphors.

I told Heavenly father every day all day I was grateful for my wonderful life. I started thinking about and writing down all my blessings. I suddenly realized just how good I have it compared to a lot of people. This helped make a hard crazy week a lot better and much more enjoyable and I was much more able to cope with everything that was going on. I was able to keep my cool in this red-hot week of problems! Wait till you find out what I had learned and what my blessings were through all of this. Stay tuned for next weeks addition of this message!

Til' then..Beverly
