Keeping My Cool in a Red Hot Week

Last week was particularity a very tough week! I had just come back from a nice trip from Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I had such a wonderful time. I went to get my car inspected and found out I needed a new emergency brake. So I took the car to get it fixed and they told me I also needed to replace the rear seals. They were in bad shape and leaking. So instead of the car costing me $150.00 it was now going to cost me $400.00. The car was taking longer to fix than anticipated. I tried to call my boss directly but had left her phone extension at home. So I called the work phone number in my phone no one would answer or even call me back. I walked an hour down Draper hill on 12300 South to work.

Then in the blazing, scorching, hot sun, after work, I walked back up the hill to get my car. Again it took another hour. I just barely made it there. They were closing. I get in my car to leave and it won't start! So luckily they come out of Big O's and give me a jump start! I go over to Auto Zone to get a battery and it cost me a $114.00. I then went to use my cell phone and it was missing.

The next day I go into work and I can't get through the door because my security badge was missing. So the lost badge was going to cost me $25.00 out of my pay check. After work I went to buy a new cell phone to the tune of $70.00. Right after I pay Cricket for a new cell pone I find the old one in my purse. I had previously searched that purse 300 times! By now I knew something was going on and I was definitely being tried and tested. I decided to do something different for once in my life. I decided I was not going to get the slightest upset or mad or even irritated. I decided I was going to roll with the punches and and be grateful and try to learn what ever it was I was suppose to learn. I decided to go with the grain in stead of against the grain if you will. I decided to swim downstream instead of upstream! I like using those analogies or metaphors.

I told Heavenly father every day all day I was grateful for my wonderful life. I started thinking about and writing down all my blessings. I suddenly realized just how good I have it compared to a lot of people. This helped make a hard crazy week a lot better and much more enjoyable and I was much more able to cope with everything that was going on. I was able to keep my cool in this red-hot week of problems! Wait till you find out what I had learned and what my blessings were through all of this. Stay tuned for next weeks addition of this message!

Til' then..Beverly
