Listening to the Spirit Gets us Around Big Stumbling Blocks

Hello everyone and I hope you are enjoying your beautiful Fall Season and giving thanks for all the wonderful things we have and enjoy in this world of ours. The article before last I wrote about a Red Hot week and how I had several little warnings that I did not heed to because I was being a bull head. I learned that I need to slow down and listen to the still small voice. The promptings come as a way to lead and guide us in and protect us in this life. Stumbling blocks are put in our way sometimes to teach us various lessons and prepare us for whats to come. But we need to use building blocks  in our lives to help pave the way to a happy future. We can not pick and choose some of our trials but we can choose how we are going to get around them, survive, and be happy!

My oldest daughter went with me yesterday to a nice neighborhood Turkey Dinner. She lives out in Eagle mountain and it costs a lot of gas money to go to and from there to Sandy. They have made several trips this week. Her husband said she could come and bring all their kids if I would give them a ride back home. He was going to play Hockey at the oval and wanted to bring the smaller car to conserve on gas. He had already made one trip in and had to come back. So I agreed  and said I would help drive them home. Later that afternoon I was standing in the kitchen and received a confirmation or prompting from the still small voice that I would not have to drive the kids home, that Todd would bring the van and drive them home. Later as the turkey dinner was getting over I told my daughter well I better drive you guys home. She replied back: "Todd is coming with the van so you won't need to drive us back to eagle mountain." I said to her why did he change his mind. She said he had received a prompting that he needed to drive them home in the van. Can you believe it we both had the same prompting around the same time!!!!Boy was I happy I did not have to drive them home in the dark!

I want to wish everyone a very " happy Thanksgiving Holiday and season" I hope we can all be in tune in our lives, listen, and make the right decisions.  I leave you with a Holiday poem to enjoy!

A Bountiful Harvest

Hello everyone its that time again. So check it out.....this is my favorite time of year! I like  the Holidays especially Halloween and Thanksgiving! And I have plenty to be thankful for. Its is harvest time and the leaves are changing and turning vibrant bright fall colors. The days are that warm Indian summer weather. The nights are cool, crisp, and have a slight chill in the air. It is football season. It is the best time of year for baking and showing off our baking talents by cooking those fabulous Fall deserts such as apple pie, pumpkin bars, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pies, banana bread, zuchini  bread and many other tasty treats. Also think of all the fun ways to cook all the different squashes and Fall vegetables.

We harvest our gardens and many salsa's, pie fillings, jams, jellies, salads, chili sauce, relishes, you name it. We are having a fun cooking class in the neighborhood. A chef from chili's restaurant will be teaching the class. He will be making a variety of Fall dishes. He will be making an easy gravy that is to die for. He will be showing us all bout carving meat and doing stuff with the leftovers. He will make a great squash soup. I'm very excited to attend the class.

I am so grateful and thankful for my wonderful family. My grand kids keep me very busy.  I am most thankful for my wonderful life  and my bounty of blessings. I have a book and I wrote down all the things in there I am grateful for in my life and I read it over and over again each day. It has a lot of self helps and ideas in there to improve on myself. It really helps me a lot to be happy and keeps me on the right track in life! Many of you might want to make a grateful book and incorporate your own ideas in it. Its a great tool for this time of year and will remind you of all the things you have to be thankful and grateful for!  So let us all harvest our bounty of blessings this Holiday Season.......Beverly

Red Hot Week Continued

Hello everyone....now getting back to that strange last week I had... Yes it was an extremely hard week. In fact, it was one of the strangest weeks I have ever had and it has spilled over into this week... But what I had learned from all those trials and $600 or more later is that I was lucky my car died in Big O's parking lot because they we right there to help me jump start the car and take care of me. The man upstairs was definitely taking care of me. I could have been stranded just anywhere and been in real trouble! So that was a great blessing. Then I was warned not to go get the cell phone - the man upstairs  knew I did not loose it. It was in my purse all the time. But I did not know that, so I was trying to get off work and go get it.

The last customer I talked to on the phone that day took 45 minutes - I could not believe it. I could not get off the phone. Then I could not not get out of the parking lost due to all the construction. Everywhere I went it was a dead end. I finally had to go around the entire building to get out. By now I did not have time to get down to the cricket store. I went anyway and then I accidentally turned down the wrong street not to mention it was under construction. I could not believe it! What ever was going on I did not care I was going to beat it and get that darn cell phone if it killed me. I finally made it to the cricket store and they were closed. Now if you are paying attention you have probably figured out by now someone is trying to warn me or tell me something and that is why all the roadblocks were put in my way! I pounded on the door and the man came over and opened the door and said they were closed. I frantically pleaded with him to please let me in I needed a cell phone and I had had a hard time getting there etc etc.. So he thought it over and let me in. So after a few minutes of looking at all the cell phones I purchased one. Right after I paid the man, I pulled the old cell phone out of my purse. What a hard lesson to have to learn. The lesson is, I was being warned I hadn't lost my cell phone. But I did not heed the waning or listen to the still small voice. I kind of figured I should have waited but instead of listening I just pushed my way and forced my way (to do or die) to get the cell phone!!

Next time I hope I realize to slow down and listen. Pay attention to what is going on and realize there is always tomorrow. If I would have done that I would not have bought that 2nd cell phone.....So stay tuned and we will discuss why the Lord chastens those that he loves......Beverly
